Dr. Marek is a certified GAPS practitioner. Gut and Psychology Syndrome and Gut and Physiology Syndrome (GAPS) are conditions which establish a connection between the functions of the digestive system and the brain (psychology) as well as the systems of the body (physiology). This term was created by Dr. Natasha Campbell-McBride, M.D., MMedSci (neurology), MMedSci (human nutrition) in 2004 after working with hundreds of children and adults with neurological, psychiatric, and physiologic conditions, such as autistic spectrum disorders, ADD/ADHD, dyslexia, dyspraxia, depression, obsessive-compulsive disorder, bi-polar disorder, myalgic encephalopathy, fibromyalgia, chronic fatigue syndrome, allergies, asthma, autoimmune disorders, celiac disease, Crohn’s disease, ulcerative colitis, irritable bowel disease, and various skin diseases. Since 90% of everything toxic floating in our blood comes from the gut, the purpose of this nutritional program is to heal and seal the gut lining, reduce opportunistic gut flora, and restore healthy gut flora. This program also has a high likelihood of preventing cancer, heart disease, and arthritis. You can check out www.gaps.me or www.gapsdiet.com for more information.
Dr. Marek is trained in the Gonstead technique and uses this system for most of his hands-on adjustments. He prefers this technique because it allows him to deliver the most precise adjustments. Please visit www.gonstead.com for more information about the Gonstead technique.
Hand-held instrument adjustments are also used in some cases for very gentle and specific adjusting. Visit www.erchonia.com/adjustor and www.erchonia.com/percussor to learn more about the hand-held instruments used in our office.
Diversified adjusting, Sacro-Occipital Technique (SOT Block) adjusting and Drop-table adjusting are also techniques for which Dr. Marek has trained.
